Cats! Who  needs them? We do, for they bring joy, comfort, spontaneity, mystery, and richness to our lives. What we owe them in return is a safe, loving home. No matter how self-sufficient cats may appear, they rely on us to get their needs met - both physical and emotional. This is true even when we go away. Lap of Luxury, founded in 1997, is a professional cat sitting service with one mission: to provide loving, informed, comprehensive cat care in your home when you travel. For more than fifteen years, we have proudly served the Seattle communities of Fremont, Greenlake, Magnolia, Eastlake, and Ravenna. No one is more committed, or better-qualified than Lap of Luxury to ensure the safety, happiness, and well-being of your beloved feline(s) when you are out of town. True, you could board your cat at the vet, but how would it fare in a strange place full of unfamiliar sounds and smells, away from its own environment and cozy nesting places? Cats are, after all, highly territorial creatures. You could have a friend or neighbor drop by to put out food and water and clean the litterbox, but would the neighbor feel put upon? Could you count on them to show up regularly, or to rescue your kitty if it got stuck somewhere or tangled up in something? (You know this happens.) Would they be able to tell if your cat was ill or injured, depressed or bored? Would they take the time to brush her, play with her, hold her, or talk sweetly to her as you do? Lap of Luxury enables you to travel worry-free, knowing that your furry friends are getting the love and care they deserve. We keep up-to-date on feline behavioral and medical issues. We are skilled in the care of cats with health problems, such as diabetes and kidney disease. We are honored to count veterinarians and professional cat breeders among our satisfied clients. Here are the services we provide: A pre-service consultation visit with new clients, to gather information about each cat's needs, preferences and daily routine. At least one home visit per day, each lasting 45 minutes to one hour. (Some clients request two daily visits.) Fresh food and water daily Daily litterbox clean-up Playtime, brushing, cuddling Administer medications (including injections) as needed Daily health and activity reports to owners, by phone, FAX, email, or hand-written notes Water indoor plants Pick up mail and newspapers Alter lights and blinds Other services by arrangement
